Handles Your Waste Stream

Every recycling operation has a different feedstock mix. Plastivo machines come standard for HDPE/LDPE/PP. Optional secondary screens and heating upgrades handle specialized waste streams — PET, PS, and multi-layer films.

  • HDPE films and sheets
  • LDPE (low-density polyethylene)
  • PP (polypropylene) scrap
  • PS (polystyrene) flakes
  • PET film waste
  • Post-industrial trim and edge trim
  • Post-consumer packaging waste
  • Agricultural film recovery

  • 48-Hour Spare Parts Delivery: Standard wear components in stock at our Ahmedabad facility. Fast delivery across India and Africa.
  • Custom Engineering: Retrofit upgrades and feedstock-specific configurations available. Free consultation included.

The Agglomeration Process

  1. Feed: Raw plastic film, scrap, or flakes loaded into the hopper. Input moisture up to 15% accepted.
  2. Heat & Compact: Rotating cylinder heats material via oil circulation. Internal friction compacts particles. Temperature controlled between 40–220°C.
  3. Moisture Removal: Heat reduces surface moisture to target levels. No water required — fully dry agglomeration process.
  4. Discharge: Agglomerated pellets exit through perforated screen. Uniform 4–8mm output. Immediately ready for extrusion — no secondary drying needed.

Cycle time: 3–8 minutes per batch, depending on feedstock and capacity.

Applications Across Recycling Operations

  • Film Recycling Facility: High-moisture, inconsistent-density LDPE/HDPE film — solved with a Standard unit at 60–80 kg/hr, cutting downstream extruder downtime by 40%.
  • Post-Industrial Trim Operation: Edge trim and off-spec material from extrusion plants — a Heavy-Duty unit with quick-change screens cuts rework time by 6–8 hrs/day.
  • Multi-Layer Film Separation: Printed, laminated, or contaminated film waste — an Industrial unit with secondary heating/separation enables virgin-quality downstream extrusion.
  • Export-Ready Feedstock: Market-ready agglomerate for compounders and blow-mold buyers — precise moisture/size control supports premium pricing and assured-quality supply contracts.

Why Not Just Extrude Directly?

Method Moisture Handling Downtime Risk Output Quality Capex
Direct Extrusion Manual drying (8–16 hrs) High Inconsistent Low
Agglomeration Automated (<3% moisture) Low Uniform Medium
Extrusion + Grinder Wet grinding + thermal loss Medium Degraded High

Direct extrusion of wet, uncompacted plastic causes thermal degradation, inconsistent pellet size/density, frequent shutdowns, and higher scrap rates (5–8% vs. <1% with agglomeration). Payback typically occurs within 8–12 months on mid-to-high-volume operations.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between agglomeration and grinding?

Grinding reduces size. Agglomeration compacts wet or loose material into uniform pellets and removes moisture — preserving material integrity for downstream extrusion.

How much water is needed?

Standard and Heavy-Duty units are air-cooled — no water required. Industrial units use optional water cooling at 12–15 L/hr for continuous operation.

Can it handle multi-layer films?

Yes, with optional secondary heating and separation screens. Custom configuration required — discuss your feedstock with our technical team.

What is the warranty?

All machines carry a 1-year full warranty on parts and labour, excluding wear components. 2–3 year extended contracts available.

Is training included?

Yes. On-site operator and maintenance training included with every installation.
